Book Review: The Holiday Swap by Zara Stoneley

Synopsis:
Two women, two very different lives – one perfect solution to escape festive heartbreak!
Tucked away in the idyllic English countryside, Daisy Fischer’s cosy little cottage has always been her safe haven. But when her completely dependable boyfriend issues her an ultimatum, Daisy realises there’s a whole world out there she’s missing out on.
Florence Cortes’s life couldn’t be better – gorgeous apartment right on the beach, fabulous job and dreamy boyfriend, or so she thought. Suddenly, Flo’s life isn’t so perfect after all.
When the girls house swap for the holidays, it’s not long before Daisy is being distracted by sun, sea and sexy Javier while Flo finds herself snowbound for Christmas with only handsome neighbour Hugo and a house full of animals to keep her company.
Love actually does seem to be all around this Christmas, but in the places Flo and Daisy least expect to find it…

My Review:
Loved this book! The main reason I wanted to read this was because it reminded me of my favourite movie 'The Holiday' It did not disappoint! This is my first book by Zara Stoneley and I'm happy to say it won't be my last.

We meet Daisy who lives in a cottage in the middle of nowhere (totally Kate Winslet!) her boyfriend proposes to her but Daisy isn't as happy as she should be, she knows Jimmy is not her true love. We then meet Flo who lives in Barcelona, she is hoping her boyfriend will propose when they take a trip to Paris however the trip ends in disaster!

Both Daisy and Flo are unhappy with the way their lives are leading so they decide to swap lives and homes for a few weeks at Christmas.

Each chapter changes from Daisy and Flo's point of view which I really enjoy in a book and both locations are described so well. Both girls are due to return to their homes on Christmas Eve however after Daisy meets Javier in Barcelona and Flo meeting Hugo in Tippermere their lives take an unexpected turn!

Yes the story is a little predictable and unrealistic but that's what I enjoyed about it, it's rom com at it's best!

Book Review: Passion by Louise Bagshawe

Synopsis:
A failed marriage between Melissa Elmett and Will Hyde did a lot of damage. She was too young, he was hurt when she left him. Years later, Melissa becomes the target for a kidnap plot, a consequence of her father’s ground-breaking energy-saving invention, and Will is the only man who can protect her. Now they’re on the run, thrown together again by the pursuit of vengeance, will their passion for each other reignite?

My Review!
Passion is one of my favourite books by Louise Bagshawe. I love Will Hyde! This book is James Bond for girls!

The book starts with Dimitri who has hired Lola, a female assassin. All you know is that she has been hired to take out four people.

Passion then takes you back to the past, meeting Will Hyde and Melissa Elmett in a time when they fall in love and marry young in secret, however not long after, Melissa’s family get involved resulting in their marriage ending and legally annulled leaving the couple to never see each other again.

The book then brings you back to the present Melissa a shy academic and Will a billionaire their lives very much worlds apart… But not for much longer!

Will an ex MI6 Agent fears for Melissa’s safety after hearing about a kidnap plot. Leaving them thrown together again on the run from Lola the female assassin.

Passion is written in the third person, each chapter jumps to different characters in the book, mainly Will, Melissa and Lola’s point of view. I enjoyed this throughout the story, it helped to connect to the main characters and made the chase more gripping knowing how close behind Lola was.

Of course it wouldn’t be a Louise Bagshawe book without romance, Passion is pretty much a love story between them, on the run from the bad guys and their feelings for one another resurfacing.

This book will have you hooked from the start, running for your life and falling in love with Will Hyde! But will Lola catch them or can Will get Melissa to safety?
